RIIFO will Invest a Factory in Ethiopia

RIIFO is going to set up a piping factory in Ethiopia in furtherance of offering Ethiopian people more reliable piping solutions. The factory is scheduled to start operation in 2022. Once built, it can produce up to 43 million meters of pipes every year, which will be applied in residential and commercial buildings, infrastructures, etc.

A serious lack of safe drinking water in Ethiopia for decades
According to the 2020 Human Development Report published by the UN1, 97% water bodies in Ethiopia are of good quality. Ethiopia is the second-most populous country in Africa, yet 87% of the population lives without basic access to safe drinking water. More specifically, portable water plumbed by pipes is accessible to 24 million urban residents, but inaccessible to 90.8 million rural residents.

The lack of safe drinking water and sanitation is the biggest cause of disease in the world. One of the most necessary measures of enhancing drinking water safety is to improve its supporting facilities.

RIIFO Multilayer Pipes: the revolutionary born for safer and lead-free plumbing
At the end of the 20th century, China encountered a similar water safety problem with Ethiopia. Considerable Chinese people used galvanized steel pipes for water supply. But galvanized steel pipes are susceptible to corrosion and rusting. Lead, a dangerous toxin, may build when the pipes corrode. Galvanized plumbing could pose a dangerous health hazard if not replaced with updated, safer pipes. Given that, RIIFO firstly introduced Multilayer Pipes into China.

Built with high quality materials under rigorous quality management, Multilayer Pipe is of excellent resistance to high temperature, pressure and corrosion. Its 5-layer design serves as a strong barrier against permeation of oxygen and light, further guaranteeing healthier water supply. Since its debut in China, RIIFO Multilayer Pipe has greatly improved people’s indoor plumbing habits, and led the plumbing industry to upgrade standards and codes.

RIIFO shares its successful experience in China with Ethiopia
Fully utilizing its successful piping practices in China, RIIFO came to Ethiopia 5 years ago, making every effort to secure safe water available and accessible to Ethiopian people.

What RIIFO contributes to Ethiopia is not just quality pipes, but more importantly, knowledge education about how to secure water safety. It set up a plumbing pipe experience center and office in Addis Ababa, allowing more local residents to know about ways of ensure drinking water safe. Furthermore, collaborating with local government, RIIFO offered training courses about plumbing technology and installation. RIIFO pipes have been applied in several national large-scale construction projects in Ethiopia, such as Ethiopia's Addis Ababa National Stadium, wining a good reputation in the market.

As the local demand tremendously exceeds supply, RIIFO decided to set up a factory in the central of Ethiopia, so as to satisfy the urgent market demand more quickly. Beneficial from the convenient railway network around its factory, and backed up by its automatically intelligent production and strict quality control, RIIFO is sure to deliver piping products and services at a much faster pace.

Not just about manufacture expansion, but about people’s well-being improvement
Covering an area of 42,000 SQM, the first phase project of the factory is under construction. Once the factory built, it can create 50+ jobs for local people. Additionally, RIIFO plans to send professional technical teams from the headquarter to Ethiopia, which can help nurture high-quality and skilled workers and partly optimize the employment market.

Staying true to its original aspiration, RIIFO has kept on forging ahead with the purpose of improving global people’s life firmly in mind. Continuing its pursuit of product innovation and service improvement, RIIFO will, as always, serve customers and partners with heart and soul and strive for the well-being of all people in the world.
